A hotel that could not wake up from a winter sleep

     I planned a rest in Tunisia with my sister. The trip shaped up well. Everything was ready: a good hotel, a good travel agency, a country friendly for tourists. The 5-star hotel, according to the catalogue, really made a big impression and the pictures from the offer corresponded to reality. Only there was that small snag. May is the month in which the Tunisians wake up from winter sleep. It is similar with hotels.

      The room looked nice, just right to have a good time in it. The first thing you test after a trip is the toilet and there the first surprise was waiting for me. With "virgin" use, the flush in the toilet broke down. Informing the reception did not help and our bathroom was already preparing another attraction ... At 5am in the morning, the first day we were woken up by dripping water. It turned out that the sink tap was leaking. So much water had gathered that it could have overflown onto the floor. Immediately I made a call to the reception to talk about another failure. My call was answered and of course no one appeared to repair it. Fortunately, my sister is this unique type of women who deal with technical things. She got to work and after half an hour she stopped the leak. We only had to get rid of the water overflowing the sink. We did it with mugs because we lacked more sophisticated tools. After having taken control of the situation in the bathroom, there was no chance to for a sleep though. We were extremely tired and sleepy as the night before that charming morning had also been full of attractions. When we were sleeping peacefully, suddenly someone started hammering at the door of our room. I could hardly open my eyes in the middle of the night. In the corridor an entertaining native was standing and started speaking resolutely to me in French. I told him in English that I did not understand his language and slammed the door. However, it was not the end of the adventures. A ghostly room decided to give us a rough ride. In order not to lose my teeth on the way to the door, I wanted to turn on the lamp. The effect was hocking. It caused the short circuit and to plug in and fuses exploded. As a result, we lost electric power. Without it but with surplus water in the sink, our first day in tourist paradise began. Only after breakfast, did we succeed in finding a resident. When she intervened in a decisive manner at the reception desk, some mysterious force caused all the failures in our room be repaired.

     I admit that for the 5-star hotel, the food was monotonous, and each meal was not different from the other. During lunch and dinner drinks were served by waiters whose unexplained strength was pushing away from the tables occupied by Polish tourists. As a result, I ate many meals without drinking anything. After forming relationships with other Poles staying in the hotel, it turned out that they were also buffeted by failures of showers and toilets and electricity. So it turns out that not only we had bad luck but generally the hotel suffered from an inexplicable disseise. Maybe I will come back to this country one day but then I would the hotel that will already have a winter sleep behind.
