Royal jelly - food of queens.

First it was a big WOW! Royal jelly was announced panacea for all ailments. Then the enthusiasm wilted a bit because the research didn’t confirm the expectations placed in it. Several dozen of years have passed. Scientists began to discover the secrets of this amazing product of bee creative thinking and its invaluable properties for the condition of the human body.

What role does the royal jelly play in a bee family?

Young worker bees have milk glands. They are located on the head of a bee - specifically in the front of the throat. These bee mums feed abundantly with royal jelly and honey, which they transform into paste with the help of their saliva. Each cell with a bee larva is supplied with a drop of royal jelly. This kind of food is given to bee larvae for 60 hours after hatching out the eggs. The effects are amazing. "The worker’s larva eats a little - 0,00197 grams of the jelly and nevertheless on the first day its weight increases five times and within two days - thirty times, and three days – 200 times. At the end of the larval period, it weighs 1300 times more than after hatching. Only bees can do this!" - Irena Gumowska “Bees and people” (original title “Pszczoły i ludzie”), WATRA Publishing House, 1985, p. 71.

The bee queen gets a more nutritious version of the royal jelly, richer in vitamins and other nutrients. It is fed not only during the larval period but also during its reign. After all, it must have the strength to lay around 2.000 eggs a day (and in some cases even 3.000). Also, the mother's life expectancy is radically different compared to an ordinary bee. The life of a bee is counted in weeks and the queen in years.

"It was counted, for example, that (royal jelly) has 5 times more protein, one and a half times more fat than the fattest cow milk" - Irena Gumowska "Bees and people"(original title “Pszczoły i ludzie”), WATRA Publishing House, 1985, p. 74.

The royal jelly consists of: proteins, water, carbohydrates and fats. It has an unheard in other products concentration of pantothenic acid (vitamin B), which affects life extension. It also has a lot of micro- and macroelements, such as phosphorus, sulfur, iron, manganese, nickel, silicon, chromium and gold.
